Los Angeles County Wildfire Claims
The California Wildfire attorneys at Abbey, Weitzenberg, Warren & Emery want to take this opportunity to express our sincerest condolences to those who have been directly impacted by the tragic fires that have swept throughout Los Angeles County, California.
While the causes of the Eaton Fire and Palisades Fire have not yet been determined, our firm is dedicated to investigating the sources and causes of the fires, and to seek justice for all that have been harmed due to the profound devastation your communities have unnecessarily suffered during two of the most destructive wildfires in Southern California history.
Many people carry insurance protection for their homes, businesses, personal property, and persons, but it is often the case that such insurance protections fall short when they are truly needed. If your insurance reimbursement is not enough to reassemble your life, you may be eligible for a settlement to recover from the loss of your home, personal property, income, medical or therapy expenses, and emotional aggrievance.
Injury, property damage, and occupational interruption must not go unchallenged. Despite the destructive consequences of wildfire events, the flames cannot eliminate your right to indemnity. Let us help you secure the compensation you deserve so that you and your loved ones can get back on your feet.

About the Eaton Fire
At approximately 6:18 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, the Eaton Fire ignited near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive in Altadena, California and, due to the unprecedented winds throughout the area, quickly became one of the most destructive wildfires in Southern California history. The Eaton Fire has devastated over 14,000 acres, damaged and destroyed over 2,000 structures, caused countless needless injuries and fatalities, and continues to threaten the lives and livelihoods of thousands more in the community. This catastrophe has caused thousands more to evacuate and has left a similar number of residents and business owners displaced.
About the Palisades Fire
At 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, the Palisades Fire ignited southeast of Palisades Drive in Pacific Palisades, California and has decimated nearly 24,000 acres, damaged and destroyed nearly 1,500 structures, and has caused the deaths of at least 8 innocent people. Similarly to the Eaton Fire, thousands of residents have been displaced and injured as a result of the fire.
What Types of Damages Am I Entitled To?
Since fire claims are filed on an individual basis, each person’s losses will be different. You should be entitled to recover whatever you lost in the fire, plus any injuries and/or physical and emotional pain you suffered as a result.
These damages include, but are not limited to:
- Personal injury
- Pain and suffering
- Emotional distress
- Repair costs to repair or replace your home
- Business losses
- Compensation for lost personal belongings
- Compensation for the loss of use and enjoyment of your property
- Lost wages (if the fire impacted your ability to work)
- Depreciation in the value of your land
- Damage to crops, trees, and landscaping
- Harm to pets or livestock
Do I Have to Pay an Attorney to Take My Case?
Our law firm operates on a contingency fee basis, meaning that our clients never have to pay us in advance nor out of their own pockets. Instead, we share a mutually agreed-upon percentage of the amount in damages you recover if your claim is successful. This means that if you don’t get paid, neither do we.
